When we Take Offense, we Lose Greatly...

"Offense must be taken; it cannot be given. It must be taken to have power. It is a trap; a stumbling block designed to disrupt your life. Offense is a choice and is a barrier to peace and purpose." M. Bolden

Offense is an external force; always present, always available. Its aim is to remove peace from the heart and plant seeds of resentment through insult.
People will inevitably say or do things intended to offend. But we must remain alert. Pay close attention to those who consistently work to provoke offense. Their goal is often to bring division into your heart (how you walk in love), into your mind (who you are in Him), and into your soul (how you react or respond).
Avoid them. Do not allow their contentions to become obstacles that disconcert your heart. Bitterness is subtle, and internal resentment will separate you from the love, peace, and joy that dwells within you. Guard your heart. Offense is a distraction from purpose and a thief of harmony.
